About the Artist

New York native entrepreneur, Scott Rella, started his first company in 1981.  Many years of sculpting, competing and performing around the globe, and more ice than he cares to think about, Scott has given life to four ice sculpting companies.  He is grateful, humble and well amazed when he reflects on his life in ice.

Scott’s quality of work, worldwide reputation, integrity and experience has lead him to a signed contract with Sony Pictures to host and produce a TV Show on the world of ice. The show will be shot here in Vail, Aspen and Steamboat highlighting the many events Scott has sculpted for over the past 12 years. We look forward to working with you all very soon!

As a Chef at the Waldorf Astoria the world of ice opened up to him.  After Chefing in NYC for 13 years while producing sculptures simultaneously for several clients, he finally took that leap of faith and decided to go out on his own to sculpt full time.  It has gone by rather quickly with four successful ventures, countless TV spots;  Around the World with Charles Kuralt, Sunday Morning, Ripley’s Believe it or Not, David Letterman, Regis and Kathy, Ordinary/Extraordinary, Food Network, Olympic coverage, just to name a few and many competitions.  Yes his path has also included representing the USA at the Olympic Games in Lillehammer in 1994, Salt Lake City in 2002 as well as The World Championships several times in Fairbanks Alaska and Hokido Japan.

Scott has produced sculptures in marble and clay as well as a series of abstract paintings. While attending the New York Academy of Art Scott produced sculptures for Vorpal Gallery in SoHo and produced several public art commissioned pieces around the city.
